Hi! My name is Sally G., and I am a “newbie” RV Reno Designer living in Gloucester, VA. My BF Chris W. is an AMAZINGLY TALENTED Craftsman that can LITERALLY make or fix ANYTHING he puts his hands on. Our story is kind of crazy, so I will spare most of the details. We met in NJ in 2015 and almost instantly became BFFs. I say “almost” because he was kind of a jerk the first time we met, but lucky for him I tend to like that type. Skip to 2017… We moved with my 2 BEAUTIFUL daughters to SC, my home state, where we started a Contracting Company. That DID NOT work out on any level, so skip to March, 2020, when we decided to move to Gloucester, VA. It was the very beginning of the pandemic, so we did what any other SANE couple would do… We threw the truck camper we had refinished into the bed of our GMC Sierra and headed North to VA!
My FABULOUS girls had already made the move to NOVA, so our move into a 1972 Winnebago that Chris had previously purchased was simple. All we had to do was, well EVERYTHING! Thankfully, his Dad and Step Mom, whom we ADORE, allowed us to stay in the guest room on “Sunny Side Farm” for a few weeks while we worked to make it livable. (I will post on that quick and simple reno later.)
After MANY home improvement jobs we had worked on in the area, we were FINALLY getting back on our feet. That’s when we decided to purchase our 1st RV to renovate. It was a 2001 Shasta Fifth Wheel. (I will write an extensive post on that reno later.) We listed it on FB Marketplace and it SOLD… FAST! In less than 48 hours to be exact. A nice couple from NC purchased it for asking price.
Just a few months ago, we acquired our 2nd RV to be renovated. She was a 1989 Fleetwood Wilderness Yukon, 24 ft travel trailer named “Beautiful Lemonade”. (I will write an extensive post on her later as well.) We listed her on FB Marketplace and she SOLD for asking price to a FABULOUS couple in VA in less than 24 hours!
That was the project that made Chris and I decide that Renovating RV’s was what we are MEANT to do, TOGETHER, Just Us 2. We all have a PURPOSE, and ours, at least for now, is to find RV’s and build a new life for them and their owners.
